Lorin Parks of Paducah Dies in Big Rig Crash on Highway 349 [Martin County, TX]

Martin County, TX (September 21, 2024) – 21-year-old Lorin Parks of Paducah was killed in a big rig crash on Highway 349 Thursday afternoon.

It was about 1:45 p.m. when the deadly vehicle crash happened near Mile Marker 300.

Investigators said a big rig pulling a trailer was stopped in the inside lane of the freeway preparing to turn west into a private driveway.

At the same time, a Jeep driven by Shelby Carroll, 19, of Huffman, with Lorin Parks as a passenger, was traveling north on the same freeway.

The accident report stated the Jeep rear-ended the trailer.

Unfortunately, Lorin Parks and Shelby Carroll were declared deceased in the collision while the big rig driver was not hurt.

Officers are still investigating the crash.
