58-Year-Old Campbell Woman Killed in Two-Car Collision near South Fremont Boulevard
FREMONT, CA (April 18, 2018) – A fatal car accident took place on the northbound Interstate 880 near South Fremont Street, on Wednesday morning.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a black 1997 Mercedes-Benz was traveling in the third lane from the left around 9:42 AM, when it lost control and hit the rear right side of a green 1996 Ford SUV. The SUV was traveling in the second lane from the left.
The impact of the collision cause the Ford to slide sideways and overturned. The driver, a 59-year-old Campbell man was moderately injured and taken to the Regional Medical Center in San Jose. His passenger, 58-year-old Lori Peterson, suffered life-threatening injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Driver of the Mercedes, a 42-year-old Menlo Park man, was uninjured.
