Fatal Collision in Shasta County Injures Arthur Howatt
Shasta County, CA (December 29, 2022) – On Wednesday afternoon, Arthur Howatt, 71, and Lori Howatt, 66, both of Shingletown, sustained injuries in a fatal collision on Highway 44.
Authorities Say the fatal two-vehicle crash occurred past 2:10 p.m. near Silver Bridge Road, about one mile east of Palo Cedro.
Officers said an unidentified male driver of a northbound 2000 Toyota Solara on Silver Bridge approached the intersection with Highway 44 and stopped. Meanwhile, Arthur Howatt was driving an eastbound 2011 Jeep Cherokee on the freeway and approached the same intersection.
Furthermore, the CHP stated that the Toyota driver entered the intersection directly in the path of Howatt’s Cherokee and the two vehicles crashed.
Moreover, officials pronounced the Toyota dead at the scene.
Arthur Howatt and Lori Howatt, his passenger, both incurred moderate injuries. The paramedics rushed them to the Mercy Medical Center in Redding.
