Loop 101 Fatal Collision Injures 22-Year-Old Male Driver [Peoria, AZ]

Peoria, AZ (October 6, 2022) On Tuesday evening, an 18-year-old man dies and a 22-year-old man suffered serious injuries after a fatal collision on Loop 101.

Arizona DPS says that the wrong-way crash happened at around 11 p.m. at milepost 13 (near Thunderbird Road).

Reports say that 18-year-old man was driving the wrong way in the southbound lanes of L-101. Consequently, the wrong-way driver crashed into the vehicle driven by the 22-year-old man.

Paramedics transported both drivers to the hospital.

Officials say that the wrong-way driver died at the hospital. Meanwhile, the other driver sustained life-threatening injuries.

DPS says that the collision happened as the driver attempted to make a U-turn on the freeway.

Authorities are investigating the incident and have not released additional information about the Loop 101 fatal collision.
