Fatal Pickup Truck Crash at Horseshoe Bar and Happy Roads
LOOMIS, CA (November 23, 2018) – At least one person was killed following a vehicular accident Friday evening in Loomis, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The accident happened around 9:20 p.m. at the intersection of Horseshoe Bar Road and Happy Road.
CHP officials said that a Chevrolet 2500 pickup truck went off the roadway and through a fence, down into a ditch on the right shoulder. Firefighters responded to the scene and needed to cut the vehicle where the fence was wrapped around its rear axel.
Tragically, at least one occupant sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The identity of the victim was not immediately available pending next of kin notification.
The roadway was shut down while crews worked on the scene. It was re-opened roughly around 11:27 p.m.
At this time, investigators are still working on determining the precise cause of the fatal accident.
