Lonnie Neumann Involved in Suspected DUI Crash on Hillard Street [Taft, CA]

Taft, CA (October 5, 2024) On Thursday evening, 70-year-old Lonnie Neumann was swerved into the wrong lane and collided with struck a motorcyclist in a suspected DUI crash on Hillard Street.

According to Taft Police (TPD), the 2-vehicle crash happened at about 7:10 p.m. on Hillard Street.

Reports say that the motorcyclist sustained moderate injuries after Neumann swerved into the wrong lane and collided with him on Hillard Street.

Authorities say that Neumann, driving a northbound GMC pickup, veered into the southbound lanes, striking the motorcycle.

The injured motorcyclist, an adult male whose name has not been released, was traveling south on Hillard Street, just south of Kern Street, at the time of the crash.

Neumann was arrested at the scene and faces felony charges for driving under the influence causing injuries and driving with a blood alcohol content over 0.08%.
