Hit-and-Run Driver Wanted after Fatal Pedestrian Collision near Balboa Boulevard
NORTHRIDGE, CA (November 8, 2018) – A Lompoc woman was killed Thursday evening following a hit-and-run crash on Devonshire Street. The identity of the 59-year-old victim is being withheld, pending notification of next of kin.
As per reports, the incident took place at about 9:25 PM near Balboa Boulevard. Preliminary investigation showed that the victim was walking outside of a marked crosswalk when she was struck by a vehicle.
Paramedics took the injured pedestrian to a local hospital for treatment and evaluation. Unfortunately, she succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead shortly after arriving. Meanwhile, the driver of the involved vehicle did not stop to render aid and immediately fled the area.
Authorities described the suspect vehicle as a black sports sedan, although there is no description of the hit-and-run driver.
