Driver Dies after Crashing Back of Tractor-Trailer in Livermore
LIVERMORE, CA (May 30, 2019) – A 27-year-old Lodi man was killed following a rear-end crash early Thursday morning on a major street in Livermore.
The crash happened around 3:00 a.m. at the intersection of Isabel Avenue and East Jack London Boulevard.
According to police, the man was driving a 2015 Kia Optima northbound on Isabel Avenue when he crashed into the rear of a tractor-trailer. He was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not yet been released pending notification of his family members.
The truck driver was unharmed.
Police closed all lanes of northbound Isabel Avenue for about five hours while they documented the incident.
It is unknown whether drugs or alcohol were involved. Further investigation is underway.
