91-Year-Old Driver Killed in SUV-Car Crash on East Briggsmore Avenue and Held Drive
MODESTO, CA (February 20, 2018) – A 91-year-old man from Modesto was fatally injured a car crash on East Briggsmore on Tuesday.
According to the Stanislaus County Coroner’s Office, Lloyd H. Kendrick was killed after the Saturn sedan he was driving collided with a Ford Escape at the intersection of Briggsmore Avenue at Held Drive at around 3:50 PM. Kendrick was making a left turn from Held to Briggsmore when his vehicle collided with the SUV, driven by 52-year-old Lisa Willis of Modesto.
Emergency responders performed CPR on Kendrick before he was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he died. The two passengers in his vehicle, a woman and a baby, sustained non-life-threatening. Willis was also treated for non-life threatening injuries.
Officer Billy Boyle of the Modesto Police Department stated that they are still investigating the incident and are yet to determine the exact cause of the crash. They have confirmed that neither drugs nor alcohol appear to be involved in the accident.
