State Route 823 Crash Injures Four
Selah, WA (February 17, 2022) – On February 15, four people sustained injuries in a State Route 823 two-vehicle collision.
The accident took place at about 8:58 a.m. at the Matson Bridge Interchange.
A 32-year-old Yakima woman was driving a northbound vehicle with two little girls (ages five and 11).
At the same time, a 40-year-old woman was driving a southbound 2015 Toyota Corolla approximately half a mile south of Selah.
The authorities said the Yakima woman turned left in front of the southbound Toyota Corolla.
As a result, the two vehicles collided.
All of the four people involved in the crash sustained injuries.
Emergency responders rushed each of them to Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital in unknown condition.
Moreover, investigators said everyone was wearing their seatbelt when the crash happened. Also, officers do not consider impairment from drugs and/or alcohol as a factor.
Both the Corolla and the 2013 Kia Sportage sustained reportable damage but was not totaled.
Meanwhile, officers said that the cause of this collision was a failure to yield the right of way on the behalf of the female driver from Yakima.
