1 Dead and 1 Injured in Woodland Car Crash
WOODLAND, WA (September 18, 2019) – An Amboy female resident died while a man sustained injuries after a head-on crash on Cedar Creek Road.
51-year-old Lisa Griffith died in the head-on crash on September 15 on the 2500 block of Northeast Cedar Creek Road, Clark County sheriff’s Sgt. Alex Schoening revealed. Fire, police and medical crews all came to the scene at 3:53 p.m. Authorities closed the road for around seven hours during the investigation.
Schoening said that Lisa Griffith traveled west on her way to work in a gold 2002 Honda Civic. However, her car steered into the oncoming lane. Griffith crashed head-on with 54-year-old Daniel Heup of Ridgefield driving a red 2016 Ford F-350 with a camper shell.
Responders transported Heup to a hospital with injuries. Authorities who haven’t made arrests or issued citations noted that Daniel Heup helped with the investigation.
According to Schoening, the crash occurred near a shallow curve in the road.
“It’s a logical place that, if someone isn’t turning the wheel into the curb, it could cause a collision,” he added.
The Clark County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Unit is currently investigating the crash.
