Lisa Ann Heflin Arrested in Alarming Wrong-Way Crash on 405 Freeway [San Diego, CA]

1 Person Arrested in San Diego Auto Accident on 405 Freeway near Wilshire Boulevard

SAN DIEGO, CA (May 23, 2024) – On Wednesday, authorities arrested Lisa Ann Heflin after an alarming wrong-way crash on 405 Freeway.

The incident started at around 4:30 a.m. when authorities responded to a disturbance call in the area of Fourth and Rose Avenues in Venice. Then, a white van fled the scene and struck an LAPD patrol car that was responding to the call.

According to reports, the suspect attempted multiple times to hit the patrol vehicles that were responding to the incident. Then, the suspect vehicle continued to travel in an unsafe manner, weaving in and out of oncoming traffic on the northbound 405 Freeway.

Moreover, the incident ended when the suspect vehicle struck multiple vehicles, including a big rig near the Wilshire Boulevard exit.

Furthermore, officers arrested the female driver of the vehicle, identified as 41-year-old Heflin, for four counts of assault with a deadly weapon and single counts of fleeing a pursuing officer while driving recklessly and hit-and-run resulting in property damage.

At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.
