Police Arrest 19-Year-Old Lindsey Shaver in Pacific Coast Highway DUI Crash
Mugu Rock, CA (March 19, 2021) – On Thursday, an 18-year-old Camarillo woman was injured and police arrested 19-year-old Lindsey Shaver, also of Camarillo in a DUI crash on Pacific Coast Highway.
Officers received the crash report at about 6:58 p.m. north of Mugu Rock, on the southbound side known as Vista Point.
Shaver was driving a 2002 Ford Explorer sport utility vehicle southbound with her passenger, an 18-year-old Camarillo woman.
Apparently, the passenger was sitting on the edge of the Explorer’s open sunroof and was taking cell phone video from atop the moving vehicle with no seatbelt.
At the same time, Shaver was recording cell phone videos as she was driving.
As a result, her vehicle swerved off the paved roadway and she lost control of the Explorer. The SUV rolled over and ejected the passenger.
Unfortunately, Shaver’s passenger incurred major injuries and was transported by ambulance to Ventura County Medical Center.
On the other hand, Shaver was wearing a seat belt during the accident. She incurred minor injuries and declined medical treatment.
Moreover, officers arrested Shaver on suspicion of felony driving under the influence causing injury to another. They booked her into Ventura County jail with bail set at $50,000 and subsequently released on a bail bond, jail records showed.
The authorities closed Pacific Coast Highway in both directions as they investigated. They reopened the highway at 8:25 P.M.
