Calvary Murrieta High School Student Dies in DUI Crash in Temecula
TEMECULA, CA (June 1, 2019) – A 15-year-old Lily Kelly Harrison of Murrieta was killed following a DUI crash Saturday evening.
The crash took place at 6:19 p.m., on Rancho California Road. Dispatchers arrived near Business Park Drive shortly after.
Harrison was riding in a 2005 Toyota Corolla with her two friends at the time. According to reports, an oncoming 2015 BMW sedan veered into their pathway, and collided with them head-on.
Moreover, Harrison consequently suffered traumatic blunt force injuries as a result of the impact. She was later pronounced dead at the scene.
In addition, six other people were also injured in the collision. However, their has been no update on their current condition at this time.
The driver of the BMW was eventually identified as 19-year-old Jose A. Zazueta of Fallbrook, was charged with felony driving under the influence of alcohol and felony vehicular manslaughter. He was held Monday at the Byrd Detention Center in Murrieta in lieu of $75,000 bail.
Furthermore, officials also say Lily and her friends were on their way home from a party at the time of the collison. Harrison’s family has a GoFundMe account set up.
No further details have been released to the public at this time.
