Lilia Garcia Fatally Injured after Acton Hit-and-Run Accident
ACTON, CA (September 16, 2019) — A homeless woman identified as Lilia Garcia died in a hit-and-run crash on Saturday, September 14.
The 41-year-old victim had no official city of residence, according to coroner’s Lt. David Smith.
California Highway Patrol said that the collision happened just before 2 a.m. near the intersection of Crown Valley and Soledad Canyon roads.
Garcia walked southbound on the west dirt shoulder of Crown Valley Road when an unknown vehicle struck her. She died at the scene, the CHP stated.
A small white sedan with a large spoiler on the rear was seen leaving the crash area, the CHP said.
A news photographer at the scene stated that it looked like the victim may have been dragged by the vehicle and lost a limb.
