50-Year-Old Lexus Passenger Killed in Collision on 176th Street [Spanaway, WA]

Driver Faces Charges Following Spanaway Deadly Crash

Spanaway, WA (November 25, 2024) – A 50-year-old Lexus passenger was killed in a high-speed collision on 176th Street Saturday afternoon.

It was around 4 p.m. when a WSP officer saw a speeding southbound Lexus sedan on Pacific Avenue. Officers said the vehicle was also weaving in between traffic. 

The trooper caught up to the driver on 176th Street and activated his lights.

The 24-year-old Lexus driver sped up to elude authorities, but his car lost control and slid sideways into the oncoming traffic.

Afterward, the Lexus struck an F150 pickup truck killing the 50-year-old passenger in the Lexus.

The 44-year-old pickup truck driver was transported with serious injuries.

Investigators said the Lexus driver exited the vehicle and walked around after the collision. He was later transported to be treated and have his blood drawn for possible DUI. 

Moreover, officers said the Lexus driver will be booked into the Pierce County Jail for vehicular homicide and vehicular assault.
