Lexi Runnels Killed and 1 Injured in Skagit County Accident on Chuckanut Drive
SKAGIT COUNTY, WA (October 20, 2020) – Friday night, Lexi Runnels died in a crash on Chuckanut Drive and Field Road in Skagit County, Washington.
According to authorities, the incident occurred just before 9:00 p.m. Moreover, they said that it happened at the intersection of Chuckanut Drive and Field Road, south of Bow.
While driving a 2008 Toyota Yaris, 23-year-old Lexi L. Runnels of Concrete didn’t yield at a stop sign at Chuckanut Drive. Afterward, a northbound 1997 Dodge Dakota on Chuckanut Drive hit Runnel’s vehicle.
Responders transported Runnels to Skagit Valley Hospital where she died.
The 19-year-old passenger of the second vehicle suffered injuries. Responders transported the patient to Skagit Valley Hospital for treatment. Meanwhile, the driver sustained no injuries in the crash.
Furthermore, the authorities confirmed that all parties involved used their seat belts.
The incident is under active investigation.
