Lewis Earl Fisher of Arleta Killed in Interstate 5 Hit-and-Run Crash [Santa Clarita Valley, CA]

Santa Clarita Valley, CA (April 29, 2023) – On March 31, a war veteran, Lewis Earl Fisher, 93, of Arleta, sustained fatal injuries in an Interstate 5 hit-and-run crash.

The fatal collision took place at about 5:05 a.m. on the northbound freeway, south of the Highway 14 junction.

Reports said the victim was heading to his favorite weekend getaway spot, Las Vegas, when another driver committed an unsafe lane change. 

The other car sideswiped Fisher’s 2005 white Toyota Camry pushing it toward a 10-foot-wide concrete median where the vehicle ultimately crashed.

Fisher was transported to Olive View Medical Center with major injuries. Unfortunately, he died on April 13. 

Moreover, CHP officers said they are seeking help from the public in order to move with their investigation.  

CHP Officer Josh Greengard, spokesman for the California Highway Patrol’s Newhall office, said, “If anybody has any information on this crash or dash camera video, please call the California Highway Patrol’s Newhall-area office at 661-600-1600.”
