Officers Arrest Gig Harbor Man in Tacoma Fatal DUI Crash
Tacoma, WA (April 3, 2023) – On Sunday, Levi Moser, 20, of Tacoma, died, and the authorities arrested a 37-year-old Gig Harbor man in a 2-vehicle collision on Interstate 5.
The fatal collision occurred at about 12:44 a.m. on the northbound ramp from I-5 to I-705.
According to the investigating officers, a southbound Ford F150 pickup truck was driven by the Gig Harbor man while in the northbound lanes of I-705.
At the same time, Moser was northbound on I-5 in a Honda Accord.
The Ford hit the Honda and the vehicles rested in lanes one and two.
Responding medics declared Moser dead at the scene. He reportedly was not wearing a seatbelt during the accident.
Two other occupants in the Accord sustained injuries. One of them was 15 years old. Both of the occupants were taken to St. Joseph Medical Center in Tacoma. Officers said only the 15-year-old wore a seatbelt in the Honda.
Moreover, a 27-year-old Bremerton woman was an occupant in the Ford. Medics took her to St. Joseph Medical Center with injuries. Reports said she was not wearing a seatbelt during the collision.
Troopers arrested the Gig Harbor man on suspicion of driving under the influence. The incident memo indicates charges are pending for the driver as the authorities are still investigating.
