1 Dead and 2 Injured in Phoenix Car Collision
PHOENIX, AZ (November 26, 2019) – A woman died while two men sustained injuries in a truck and car collision on 55th Avenue.
Sgt. Mercedes Fortune revealed that on November 21, officers came to the scene at around 6:30 p.m. on 55th Avenue and Indian School Road. After that, they located a seriously wrecked truck and sedan.
Fortune added that the collision occurred when the truck driver tried to turn left onto 55th Avenue from Indian School Road. Meanwhile, a speeding 19-year-old male driver of the sedan traveling east on Indian School Road collided with the truck. The collision led the sedan to hit an apartment complex fence.
The truck occupants, a 68-year-old man, and his passenger, a 61-year-old woman, both went to a hospital with injuries. The woman, Leticia Ochoa, died at the hospital. However, the man is in critical condition.
Responders took the 19-year-old driver to the hospital with serious injuries.
Authorities ruled out impairment as a factor in the collision. However, it remains under active investigation.
