30-Year-Old Lesly De La Cerda Killed in Vehicle Crash on Cesar Chavez Road [Edinburg, TX]

Edinburg, TX (September 10, 2024) – 30-year-old Lesly De La Cerda was killed in a vehicle crash on Cesar Chavez Road Sunday evening.

It was about 6 p.m. when the fatal accident happened at the intersection with FM 495.

Troopers said a minivan driven by a woman failed to yield the right of way and collided with another vehicle at the intersection.

Lesly De La Cerda, who was a passenger in the vehicle the suspect driver has crashed into, has died in the collision. Her 36-year-old husband, who was the driving the vehicle, a 15-year-old male and a 12-year-old female, were hospitalized.

The female driver left the scene on foot but was later located a few blocks from the crash.
