Leslie Ochoa Dies Following Bakersfield Accident on East Panama Road
BAKERSFIELD, CA (September 13, 2022) – Saturday night, Leslie Ochoa, 17, died in a crash on East Panama Road and Mod Way.
The fatal accident happened at about 10:30 p.m. on East Panama Road, east of Mod Way.
According to reports, a 17-year-old boy drove a black 2021 Polaris RZR off-road vehicle westbound within a dirt field.
Then, the driver approached a concrete culvert while driving at an unsafe speed. Then, the front of the Polaris struck the edge of the culvert.
As a result, the driver and two other female passengers, sustained major injuries. Meanwhile, another passenger, a 13-year-old girl sustained moderate injuries.
They were transported to Kern Medical in Bakersfield for medical treatment, with 17-year-old Ochoa later dying at Kern Medical.
Afterward, CHP arrested the teen driver, and they also confirmed that alcohol played a role in this crash.
