Driver Injured in Deadly Crash west of Marler Road
St. Francois County, MO (August 23, 2024) – 86-year-old Leroy Rolens, of Potosi, was killed in a head-on crash on Highway 8 Wednesday afternoon.
The fatal collision happened around 4:45 p.m. west of Marler Road.
Troopers said, 23-year-old Jadyn Dee, of Park Hills, was eastbound and attempted to pass multiple vehicles when their vehicle had struck an oncoming car in the westbound lane.
The driver of the oncoming car, Leroy Rolens, has died in the accident while Dee was seriously injured and airlifted to a St. Louis hospital.
MSHP said both drivers were wearing seat belts duting the accident.
This fatal crash is under investigation.
