National City, Hit-an-Run Crash Kills Leonardo Alcantara
National City, CA (June 03, 2021) – On March 17, 81-year-old man Leonardo Alcantara died in a hit-and-run crash on East Eighth Street.
The fatal crash took place at about 7:20 p.m. near Interstate 805.
officers said Alcantara was crossing northbound on East Eighth Street when he was struck by a westbound vehicle.
Alcantara was pronounced dead at the scene.
However, the involved driver did not stop or call 911.
Officers said the suspect vehicle is a dark blue or dark gray 2012- 2015 Chevrolet Malibu or Chevrolet Cruze with minimal front end damage.
