Murrieta, CA (February 29, 2024) On Monday evening, 44-year-old Leny Palma Gaitan of Murrieta was killed in a horrific pedestrian crash on Whitewood Road.

According to the Murrieta Police Department, the deadly auto-pedestrian collision happened at about 7:29 p.m. on Whitewood Road, between Somers Road and Baxter Road.

Reports say that a vehicle fatally struck Gaitan who was walking in the southbound lanes. Officials say that 2 other southbound vehicles struck Gaitan.

Authorities say that it was raining at the time of the collision, and all motorists involved in the fatal crash stayed at the scene until authorities arrived.
