22-Year-Old Pronounced Dead after Two-Vehicle Collision near Broadway in Chico
Chico, CA (April 9, 2020)– Thursday morning, 22-year-old Lenore Robertson was killed while two other people sustained injuries in a car accident on 8th Street.
Chico’s Major Accident Investigation Team (M.A.I.T.) received crash reports and immediately responded at 5:00 a.m., on April 9 on 8th Street and Broadway.
Moreover, Chico Police revealed that Robertson ran a red light resulting in an extreme collision with another vehicle.
As a result of the impact, the two other women in her car were transported to a nearby hospital. However, their current condition has not yet updated.
Meanwhile, the 24-year-old driver of the other vehicle and his passenger remained uninjured. Police say no charges will be filed against him.
Both parties involved cooperated with the police investigation.
Authorities closed the westbound lanes on 8th Street near the intersection of Main and Broadway during cleanup and preliminary duties. However, it was later re-opened to traffic.
