Rider Dies after Crash with Car on 105 Freeway in Lennox
LENNOX, CA (February 26, 2019) – A motorcyclist was killed following a traffic collision with a car Tuesday morning in Lennox.
The collision happened around 7:45 a.m. on westbound 105 Freeway at Hawthorne Boulevard on-ramp.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a civilian motorcycle and a silver BMW sedan collided for unknown reasons.
Los Angeles County Fire Department officials responded to the scene and located a badly injured rider in the roadway. The patient was then transported to UCLA Medical Center, where the individual was declared dead.
The name, age and town of residence of the victim were not immediately available pending next of kin notification.
A SigAlert was issued in the area, closing the Imperial Highway on-ramp to westbound 105 Freeway from Prairie Avenue for about two hours while evidence from the scene was being collected.
It is unclear if drugs and/or alcohol were contributing factors in the crash. Further investigation is underway.
