Pickup Truck Driver Leland Taylor Loses Life Following East 50th Street Collision [Lubbock, TX]

Passenger Injured in Lubbock Fatal Crash

Lubbock, TX (October 17, 2024) – 38-year-old Leland Taylor was killed in an East 50th Street collision early Wednesday morning.

The authorities responded at 2 a.m. to the vehicle collision on East Loop 289.

The authorities were locating the reckless driver when they were informed of a collision between a passenger car and a pickup truck on the South Loop.

Responding officers located the pickup driver, Leland Taylor, deceased at the scene of the crash, while the passenger of the pickup, 29-year-old Kirstin Gallemore, was moderately injured. She was taken to UMC.

The driver of the passenger car, 42-year-old Ricardo Ferreyra, sustained serious injuries and was also transported to UMC. 

Moreover, investigators determined Ferreyra was driving west in the eastbound lanes of the South Loop when his vehicle collided with the pickup truck.

Officers are conducting a further investigation.
