Phoenix, AZ (May 20, 2023) – Saturday morning, 34-year-old Leif Chapin died in a hit-and-run crash on 36th Street and Thomas Road.

The fatal hit-and-run crash on 36th Street in Phoenix happened just after 10:15 a.m. on May 20.

Phoenix police found a man riding a moped with serious injuries.

He was taken to the hospital where he later died.

According to officials, Chapin was riding his moped southbound on 36th Street when a northbound vehicle turned left. 

However, the driver immediately fled the scene.
