Injuries Reported Following 2-Car Crash near Basilone Road
ORANGE COUNTY, CA (March 27, 2019) – At least one person was injured in a two-vehicle crash on 5 Freeway Saturday morning.
The collision occurred around 10:40 a.m., in the northbound lane of the freeway. First responders arrived near Basilone Road just south of the Orange County line shortly after.
According to highway patrol, two unidentified vehicles collided for unknown reasons. Both cars wound up in the center divider, with one facing the wrong way. One victim was reportedly found unconscious inside one of the vehicles. The occupant consequently had to be extricated by firefighters.
Authorities shut down the left lane of northbound 5 Freeway while they worked to clean up the scene. Traffic was snarled through Camp Pendleton while preliminary duties continued.
