1 Dead in Indian Wells Pedestrian Accident on Highway 111
INDIAN WELLS, CA (February 4, 2020) – A 22-year-old woman died in a pedestrian accident on Highway 111 on January 31.
Leah Meyers-McCracken of Yucca Valley died at 9:50 p.m. after a vehicle struck her. The incident occurred at about 9:45 p.m. on Highway 111 between Cook Street and Desert Horizons Drive.
A 41-year-old Palm Desert driver struck Leah Meyers-McCraken. The female driver stopped and helped with the investigation. After the authorities interviewed her, they released her.
The detectives are trying to figure out whether alcohol played a role in the crash. Deputy Robyn Flores stated that DUI is a possibility.
