Lawrence Harris Killed, John Edward Angulo Arrested in Anaheim Crash
Anaheim, CA (September 02, 2021) – On Sunday, 37-year-old Lawrence Harris of Buena Park dies, while police arrested 30-year-old John Edward Angulo of Orange, in a hit-and-run crash on Knott Avenue.
The fatal crash took place at night at the intersection with Orange Avenue.
Investigating officers said Angulo ran a red light and slammed his car into Harris’ vehicle.
Then, he immediately fled on foot and left the accident scene. Officers later caught him sleeping in another vehicle near the crash scene.
Moreover, officers charged Angulo with gross vehicular manslaughter and hit-and-run with permanent and serious injury, with a sentencing enhancement for allegedly fleeing the scene of vehicular manslaughter.
Meanwhile, he made his first court appearance Wednesday via a phone link from a hospital bed. He was ordered held on $150,000 bail and had his arraignment rescheduled for September 15 in the Central Justice Center in Santa Ana.
