Latitia Ahmed Struck and Killed in Berkeley Accident on Ashby Avenue, Daughter Injured
BERKELEY, CA (July 28, 2021) – Monday night, Latitia Ahmed, 54, died in a pedestrian crash on Ashby Avenue and Newbury Street.
According to authorities, the Berkley accident happened at around 9:56 p.m. at Ashby Avenue and Newbury Street.
Reports revealed a vehicle driven by a 24-year-old Oakland woman, struck two women, a mother and daughter, as they walked at Ashby Avenue and Newbury Street.
Furthermore, responders transported the two victims to a hospital. However, one of the patients, Latitia Austin Ahmed, died moments later. Officers said that the other victim, her daughter, 25, remained in stable condition.
Moreover, officials later stated that the woman resided in Vallejo.
Meanwhile, the driver of the vehicle involved in the crash remained at the scene. Reports confirmed that the vehicle driver has been cooperative with the authorities, police spokesman Officer Byron White said.
Also, authorities do not believe that drugs or alcohol played a role in the Ashby Avenue pedestrian accident.
