Injuries Sustained in Ridgefield Car Collision
RIDGEFIELD, WA (January 12, 2019) – Lascarez Santiago was involved in a car accident involving seven vehicles Saturday afternoon on the 5 freeway.
Washington State Patrol responded to the crash around 11:45 AM near Milepost 12. Officials stated that 30-year-old Santiago was driving a 2005 Dodge Durango southbound in the middle lane when he failed to stop and rear ended a Mazda CX3, causing a chain reaction.
The Mazda was pushed into a Hyndai Santa Fe and the Dodge was then hit by a 2017 Ford Explorer. The Hyndai was pushed into a 2014 Toyota Prius and the Ford into a 2007 Mini Cooper. Due to the impact, the Mazda veered off the road into a cable carrier.
Per reports, two occupants sustained injuries. Santiago was cited for negligent driving without insurance.
The identity of the occupants has not been released.
