I-40 Two-Vehicle Crash Kills Wittney Beckstead
Needles, CA (June 02, 2022) – On Monday, 35-year-old Makelika Schnose and 32-year-old Wittney Beckstead, both from Las Vegas, lost their lives in a vehicle collision on Interstate 40.
The fatal collision took place at about 12:35 p.m., 22 miles from Laughlin.
The CHP says the women were riding a Jeep in the right lane of the freeway. They passed a Hyundai in the left lane.
When the women merged into the left lane, the left rear of their vehicle struck the right front of the Hyundai.
As a result, both of the vehicles slid out of control and the Jeep rolled several times.
CHP said neither woman was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
Unfortunately, Makelika Schnose and Wittney Beckstead sustained fatal injuries as a result of the accident. On the other hand, the Hyundai driver incurred minor injuries.
Investigators say neither of them was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the incident. Also, it is currently unknown if alcohol played a role in the Anaheim two-vehicle collision.
