Larry Koepke of Lakewood Dies in Pedestrian Accident on Los Coyotes Diagonal [Long Beach, CA]

Long Beach, CA (January 01, 2022) – On Monday,  83-year-old Larry Koepke of Lakewood lost his life while a 73-year-old man sustained injuries in Los Coyotes Diagonal pedestrian accident.

The fatal crash happened at about 7:20 a.m. at the intersection with Carson Street.

Investigating officers said a 75-year-old Long Beach man driving a 2020 Hyundai Sonata struck the two men while they were walking on Carson Street.

Immediately, the emergency team took both injured men to a hospital. 

The 73-year-old suffered minor injuries while Koepke suffered serious injuries to his chest and later died.

Meanwhile, the involved driver remained at the accident scene and cooperated with the investigation.

The police continue to investigate this fatal crash.
