Larry Flaming Dead after 2-Vehicle Crash on South 12th Avenue in Tucson
Tucson, AZ (May 18, 2024) – Tucson Police responded to a serious two-car crash on South 12th Avenue and West Drexel Rd on the evening of May 12.
During their investigation, they discovered a Buick turning left had failed to yield to oncoming traffic and hit a Nissan.
The 32-year-old woman driving the Buick struck the Nissan, driven by 82-year-old Larry Flaming, who was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The woman was also taken to the hospital for precautionary reasons but was later released, according to the TPD report.
Police found no indication that either driver was impaired at the time of the crash.
Though Flaming was initially deemed in stable condition, he died from his injuries five days after being admitted to the hospital.
Police have cited the driver of the Buick with causing serious physical injury or death by moving violation.
She faces a maximum of 30 days in jail, one year of probation, and up to $1,000 in fines.
