Injuries Reported in Fresno Multi-Vehicle Accident on Chestnut Avenue and Highway 180

 
FRESNO, CA (May 10, 2022) – Sunday morning, authorities arrested Lanian Lee and Cornelio Ramirez after a three-vehicle crash on Chestnut Avenue.
 
The incident happened around 1:45 a.m. on Chestnut Avenue and Highway 180.
 
According to reports, the woman rode as a passenger in a white Chevy truck that stopped at a red light. Then, a Chevy Cruze rear-ended the truck.
 
As the woman and the driver exited the truck to talk to the other driver, a gray Lexus hit the woman. The impact sent her into the roadway about 10 to 15 feet away.
 
“When officers arrived, it was apparent that she had suffered significant injuries – trauma to her head and upper torso,” Fresno Police Capt. Dave Ramos revealed. The woman is listed in stable condition, however, she does have significant head trauma, and the last reports we had doctors learned she has a broken shoulder.”
 
Meanwhile, officers confirmed that the woman and the truck driver didn’t show signs of intoxication. However, the other two drivers were suspected of being impaired.

“At this point in the investigation we have determined that the driver of the Lexus as well as the driver of the Chevy Cruze that rear-ended the truck are both DUI and they will be arrested for felony DUI,” Ramos added.
 
Officers took Lanian Lee and Cornelio Cedillo Ramirez into custody. Then, they booked them on charges of driving while intoxicated.
 
Moreover, they booked Lee on felony charges of being an intoxicated driver while causing injury/death, driving with a 0.08% alcohol level while causing death/injury, and a misdemeanor allegation of driving with a suspended license.
 
Meanwhile, officers booked 50-year-old Cedillo Ramirez on felony charges of being an intoxicated driver causing injury/death and driving with a 0.08% alcohol level causing death/injury.
