Two Vehicles Flee after Collision near Cherry Avenue
LONG BEACH, CA (May 22, 2019) – Lanes were closed after a multi-car crash on northbound 405 Freeway, Wednesday morning.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision took place at approximately 6:06 AM, just south of Cherry Avenue. Based on an initial report, there were five vehicles involved in the pile-up. A black Kia Sportage, a gray Ford Pugma, and a white BMW were found at the right side of the road, while two vehicles fled the scene.
The paramedics were requested for needed medical attention. They had not yet released a report about any injury sustained in the incident.
The HOV, No. 1, and No. 2 lanes were closed due to the commotion. A clearing operation took place in the area soon after the incident.
An investigation is still currently ongoing to eventually determine liability. No further information has been given at this time.
