Lamar Gaither Dies in Scooter Crash on Highway 20 near Christianson Road [Anacortes, WA]

1 Killed in Anacortes Auto Accident on Highway 20

 
ANACORTES, WA (June 16, 2020) – Late Friday night, Lamar Gaither died in a scooter crash on Highway 20.
 
The deadly scooter crash between a BMW and a scooter occurred on June 12th about 10:04 p.m. on Highway 20 near Christianson Road in Anacortes.
 
The Washington State Patrol revealed that a 21-year-old Oak Harbor woman drove west on Highway 20 in a white 2013 BMW.
 
Meanwhile, 30-year old Lamar Gaither of Anacortes rode a motorized scooter in an unknown direction. For reasons still unknown, Lamar Gaither rode across Highway 20, into the path of the BMW.
 
Troopers revealed that Gaither wore a USDOT compliant helmet. Unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
 
Meanwhile, the BMW driver and her 21-year old passenger and an 18-month old passenger also of Oak Harbor didn’t suffer any injury in the incident.
 
Furthermore, Carl’s Towing responded to impound the BMW for safekeeping.
 
The authorities continue to investigate to identify the cause of the fatal scooter crash on Highway 20.
