Pickup Truck Overturns on 605 Freeway in Lakewood Leaving One Person Dead

LAKEWOOD, CA (November 25, 2018) – One person was killed following a rollover crash Sunday morning in Lakewood, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The fatal crash happened a little after 6:00 a.m. on southbound 605 Freeway at Carson Street.

CHP officials said that a white pickup truck had lost control and overturned down into the bushes where it landed on its side. Its occupants were trapped inside the vehicle.

Fire crews responded to the scene and confirmed that one person was killed as a result of the accident. The identity of the deceased was not immediately available.

Another person was rushed to a hospital with unspecified injuries.

The HOV and the fourth lane of the freeway were closed for the on-scene investigation, and a traffic alert was issued in the area.

The CHP is still piecing together exactly what led up to the crash but do not believe any other vehicles were involved.
