Two Pickup Trucks Collide on Highway 67 in Lakeside, Injuries Reported
LAKESIDE, CA (January 13, 2019) – At least one person was hospitalized following a two-vehicle collision Sunday afternoon on Highway 67 in Lakeside.
The collision happened around 4:04 p.m. on the northbound direction of the highway at Slaughterhouse Canyon Road.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a blue Ford Ranger collided with another pickup truck for unknown reasons. One vehicle went about 15 feet off the roadway, while the other went across lanes and overturned down an embankment.
Emergency crews responded to the scene and took at least one patient to Sharp Memorial Hospital Emergency and Trauma Center with unspecified injuries and in an unknown condition.
Both vehicles were towed away from the wreckage.
The northbound lanes of the highway were shut down while crews worked on the clearing operation.
The specific cause of the crash and who may be at fault remain under investigation.
