2 Motorcyclists Involved in Head-On Collision on Highway 74 in Lake Elsinore
LAKE ELSINORE, CA (January 20, 2019) – One person was airlifted following a head-on crash Sunday afternoon in Lake Elsinore.
The crash happened around 2:15 p.m. on Highway 74, just South of Tenaja Truck Trail near the Candy Store.
According to the California Highway Patrol, two motorcycles, a black BMW SUV and a white Volkswagen Jetta were involved.
A witness told officers that one of the riders hit the SUV head-on before striking the Jetta and another rider.
Both riders were down on the roadway, one of them was seriously injured and was airlifted to a hospital.
Several lanes on Highway 74 at Luce Oak Store Road were temporarily shut down by CHP to cleanup debris and conduct their investigation. All lanes were re-opened around 4:55 p.m.
