Highway 70 Accident Kills Lacey Duval, Christopher Carlisle Arrested

Quincy, CA (June 10, 2021) – On Tuesday, 34-year-old Lacey Duval of Chico, died, and 40-year-old Christopher Carlisle, also of Chico, was arrested in DUI crash on Highway 70.

The fatal crash took place at about 8:39 a.m. just east of C Road.

Apparently, Duval allowed Carlisle to drive her 2009 Honda Pilot with a suspended license. Carlisle was under the influence while she rode in the front right seat.

Due to a high rate of speed and his level of intoxication, Carlisle was unable to negotiate the sweeping left hand curve and the vehicle went to the dirt shoulder.

Afterwards, Carlisle aggressively turned in an attempt to re-enter the westbound lane.

However, the vehicle drifted out of control as it crossed into oncoming traffic and left the south side of the roadway.

The vehicle went airborne and crashed with a large tree at the bottom of the steep embankment.

Unfortunately, Duval incurred fatal injuries in the accident.

Carlisle incurred moderate injuries and was airlifted to Renown.

The authorities arrested Carlisle on the scene of the crash.
