32-Year-Old Zamora Man Killed in Hit-and-Run Crash near Beamer Street
YOLO COUNTY, CA (March 23, 2018) – A Zamora man was fatally struck by a hit-and-run driver on Friday morning, according to Woodland Police Department officials.
The accident happened shortly before 7 AM on County Road 98 near Beamer Street. Police and Woodland fire personnel responded to the scene of the crash to find a man on the road.
Police spokesman Dallas Hyde stated that a motorist saw Fowler’s body lying on the east shoulder of the road, adjacent to the northbound lane of traffic, and called the authorities. The victim was identified by the Yolo County coroner’s office as 32-year-old Kyle Fowler of Zamora.
Police did not immediately confirm why Fowler was in the roadway at the time of the collision.
A part of County Road 98 between Beamer Street and West Woodland Avenue was closed for most of the day after the pedestrian collision. The Woodland Police Department continue to investigate the fatal accident.
