Police Seek the Hit-And-Run Driver after Crash on Camelback Road in Goodyear

Goodyear, AZ (September 20, 2021) – The family of a 42-year-old Kristy Smith from Glendale who died in a hit-and-run crash in the area of Camelback and Sarival Roads, is still searching for answers. 

The fatal crash happened on September 14 just before midnight.

Goodyear Police said they found the body of Smith not far from Loop 303.  Investigators added that a car heading west hit her, and then kept going. 

Ashly Burkett, the daughter of Kristy said she has no idea what led up to the hit-and-run, but her mother was found wearing only a t-shirt. 

Meanwhile, Goodyear Police officials have released information on the suspect vehicle, using a stock photo. The vehicle is believed to be a silver 2018 to 2021 Toyota Camry. 

Moreover, investigators added that the car probably has damage to the front passenger side headlight and a damaged windshield with possible damage to the passenger side window and mirror.

As the investigation continues, Burkett is pleading with the public for any information that can lead to justice for her mother.
