37-Year-Old Kristina Ramos Hurt in Fatal Head-On Crash on Highway 113 [Sutter County, CA]

Sutter County, CA (June 11, 2024, 2024, 2024) On Sunday evening, 37-year-old Kristina Ramos of Woodland was injured while a 19-year-old man from Marysville died after a head-on crash on Highway 113.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the 2-vehicle collision happened on Highway 113, south of Leiser Road.

Reports say that the Marysville man was driving a northbound 2003 Volkswagen when he attempted to pass 2 other vehicles by crossing double yellow lines onto the opposing lane.

As the Volkswagen began to pass the vehicles, a southbound black Mercedes, driven by Ramos, came upon the wrong-way driver, attempts to avoid collision proved futile as both vehicles crashed head-on.

Authorities declared the Volkswagen driver dead at the scene, while medics rushed the Woodland woman to the hospital after suffering major injuries.

CHP is investigating the fatal head-on crash.
