Kristina Kimsey Killed in Head-On Collision on Highway 247 [Lucerne Valley, CA]

Lucerne Valley, CA (June 21, 2024) On Thursday afternoon, 42-year-old Kristina Kimsey died after a horrific head-on collision on Highway 247.

According to California Highway Patrol, the fatal traffic crash happened around 6:25 p.m. on Old Woman Springs Road, at Visalia Avenue.

Reports say that a 43-year-old Apple Valley man driving a southbound 2020 Toyota Corolla veered across the double yellow lane to pass slower vehicle, however came upon Kimsey on her 2000 Harley-Davidson motorcycle.

The Toyota crashed into the Harley head-on, the impact of the crash sent Kimsey off her motorcycle and sustained serious injuries. Officials pronounced the victim dead at the scene.

Meanwhile, the driver of the Toyota suffered minor injuries, officials say that there was a passenger on the Toyota, but it was not specified if the passenger was injured.

Authorities are investigating the fatal head-on collision and have not released further details at this time.
