Santa Fe Avenue Crash Injures Turlock Man Michael Perales, Kills Denair Woman and Teenage Girl
Stanislaus County, CA (April 29, 2021) – On Wednesday, Kristie and Cheyenne Wight died in a head-on crash on Santa Fe Avenue.
The deadly accident took place just before 8 a.m. south of East Keyes Road.
Apparently, the 48-year-old female driver and her teenage daughter of Denair were southbound on Santa Fe Avenue in a Chevrolet SUV.
Just then, the Chevrolet entered the northbound lanes and collided with a Ram flatbed truck driven by Perales.
Emergency rescuers took both of them to Memorial Medical Center in Modesto, where they were pronounced dead.
On the other hand, responders took Michael Perales, 39, to Doctors Medical Center with moderate injuries.
Moreover, officers are investigating whether the victims were wearing seat belts during the accident and if drugs or alcohol were involved.
They are investigating the statements of a witness that one of the drivers may have been involved in road rage prior to the accident.
The authorities later identified the two deceased as mother Kristie Wight, 48, and her 16-year-old daughter, Cheyenne Wight.
