Injuries Reported in 4-Vehicle Collision on Bear Valley Road
Apple Valley (September 10, 2022) On Friday evening, a multi-vehicle crash on Kiowa Road caused several injuries.
Authorities say that the 4-vehicle collision happened around 9:50 p.m. at the intersection of Bear Valley Road and Kiowa Road.
Reports say that an Apple Valley Sheriff deputy witnessed a 2016 BMW motorcycle speeding eastbound on Bear Valley Road. The deputy began a pursuit.
Approaching the intersection, the motorcycle struck the back of a GMC traveling in the No. 1 then slid across the crossing. Medics say that the rider suffered major injuries, rescuers transported the injured rider to a hospital.
Meanwhile, the deputy also collided with the passenger side rear-end of the GMC, then crashed into the driver’s side rear tire of the Mitsubishi Monterotraveling in the No. 2 lane.
Officials say that a 33-year-old female driver on the Mitsubishi sustained minor injuries and medics transported her to a hospital, while the 55-year-old man on the GMC complained of minor pain. Fortunately, the deputy was not injured.
Deputies closed the intersection of Bear Valley and Kiowa roads for several hours while the scene was being processed. Authorities have not provided additional information at this time.
